  • Turn off computer first then install 2.5" drives into the FSR202.
  • Hold down ▲button then turn computer on. After five seconds, FSR202’s screen will display RAID mode switch interface.
  • Press ENT button and restart computer to complete RAID mode change.
1. Turn off the computer.
2. Insert the drive you wish to use as the source drive into the FSR202, then pull out the other drive.
3. After turning on the computer, the only drive in the FSR202 will be automatically set up as a source drive.
1. Determine which hard drive you wish to use as a source (primary) drive and a target (secondary) drive by removing them individually to check their content and data.
2. Turn off the computer and remove both hard drives.
3. After turning on the computer, insert the source drive into FSR202 first, then insert the target drive second. The FSR202 will then start rebuilding its RAID array.
The rebuilding process automatically duplicate data from one sector to another sector. Technically there should be no data lost during rebuilding. However, if the primary (source) hard drive has bad sectors, the FSR202 will still simulate and copy those sectors onto the secondary (target) hard drive. Therefore, the same corrupted data is also duplicated and you may lose data this way.
In Mirror mode (RAID 1), if computer powers off during rebuilding, FSR202 will remember the progress of its rebuild and resume rebuilding where it left off when computer is turned on again.
The storage capacity of the new replaced hard drive must be equal or larger than the primary hard drive. Otherwise, FSR202 is unable to perform rebuilding work.
1. Total storage capacity is determined by the storage capacity of the primary hard drive configured during initial RAID setup.
2. Storage capacity will not increase even if you replace one of the drives with a larger capacity model.
Please check to see if FSR202 is currently in the process of auto rebuilding.
If it is, please wait for rebuilding to finish for full performance. If not, then please follow the below instruction to find out possible root causes:
1. Examine if connected SATA cables are too long or outside of standard spec. for connector type and quality.
2. If cables are within standard, please turn off the computer, remove both hard drives from FSR202 and connect them directly to computer to check if they read / write data normally.
Bad sectors on hard drive will affect performance and prevent proper reading / writing of data.
1. Please check FSR202 LCD is displaying normally.
2. Please check if the SATA cable is properly connected to the computer and whether hard drives are functioning properly.
3. If all devices function properly but computer still fail to start, there may be compatibility problem. If such incompatibility takes place, please contact our support at support@silverstonetek.com
